Republic day..could have been better

It has been 62 years now after India got its independence. When i look back what had happened in the late 1940's , I sometimes wonder could India be different than what it is today. After thinking over and over again, i truly salute Mahatma gandhi for his struggle for freedom, he has definitely worked really hard to save us from the hands of the britishers. Then when i look back at history i wonder what had happened just before India got independence i.e before 15th august ,1947.
If Muhhamad ali jinnah had not demanded a separate pakistan, things would have been different. Was , there a need for a separate pakistan?..no i dont think so. It was jinnah's urge to get the power in his hand's which made a country by name "Pakistan" and nothing else.
I am a hindu, most of my friends are muslims, i dont make friends depending on the cast they belong to.I think first we are human beings. We still have people from muslim community in india, we live in India like brothers and sisters.
Had the option of separate pakistan was ruled out at that point of time, INDIA would have been a huge superpower ---INDIA still is, but combined with the current paskistan's population and the geographical area, the whole economy combined would have been a great pride for our freedom fighters.
Many people were killed during the partition. i strongly feel bad for them.I would like to conclude that, becuase of this partition nobody at the top level lost anything, it was a common man who lost, and is still loosing due to lack of opportunities,terrorism..etc....If partition had not happened we would have been celebrating a better republic day.........
